Intro to Beekeeping - $45
This class is perfect for the person who is interested in beekeeping but is unsure where to start or how to get going. We recommend this class for anyone who has yet to start beekeeping or if you’ve had less than one season keeping bees. Come with all your questions! If you are comfortable with your equipment and have a few basics under your belt, we recommend you start at the Beginning beekeeping class! (Materials included)
This class will cover:
- Equipment you will need and some optional equipment
- Basic Terminology
• Your beekeeping hive setup and how it works - An overview of your first season
- Installing your first bee package
Beginning Beekeeping- $65
This class is perfect for the person who is comfortable to jump in and start learning about bees! If you’ve had previous experience or read a few books and feel comfortable to start getting into the nitty gritty of beekeeping, this class is for you! If this sounds a little scary, try our Intro to beekeeping class! (Materials included)
This class will cover:
- Hive Safety
- Understanding and working your hive
- Bee Basics
- Your First Inspection
- A look at Honey Collection
- Installing your first bee package
Advanced Beekeeping - $85
This class is perfect for the person who is comfortable to jump in and start learning about bees! If you’ve had a little previous experience or read a few books and feel comfortable to start getting into the nitty gritty of beekeeping, this class is for you! If this sounds a little scary, try our Intro to beekeeping class! (Materials included)
This class will cover:
Bee Friendly plants
An in depth look at the bee season
Intro to IPM
Pests and poisons and the honeybee
Personal or for Profit- Collecting Products of the hive
Master Beekeepers - $600
This class is for the serious beekeeper. An in-depth class exploring the world of the bee and the involvement of the beekeeper. From anatomy to queen breeding, this class will give you an extensive knowledge base and a comprehensive view of the world of the honeybee. Class book and all materials included. (Textbooks and materials included)
This class will cover:
- Advanced tracking and hive Bookkeeping
- Advanced Bee anatomy
- Advanced IPM
- Techniques and systems of Queen Rearing
- Intro to Breeding and Breeding for traits
Queen Rearing (2 Days) - $175
This is a hands-on class where we will be grafting larvae from the hive! Learn about the different methods of queen rearing and then try your skills. Beginner or advanced, young or old, this class is a lot of fun! Day one covers the different methods of grafting and some important bee basics. Day two, the student will be grafting larvae from the comb. Think you got it down? Can you get 100 percent? Turn in your final grafts and see how many queens you successfully grafted! Keep all the queens you make! Class pictures and lunch will be provided on day 2. (All Materials included)
